When Customers Appear in Netwise
Not all Shopify customers automatically show up in Netwise. Here's how and when they appear.
Key points:
Customers added through the Applications module are created in Netwise upon approval.
Customers added via Shopify Segments (linked to Customer Groups) are synced automatically when the segment updates.
Customers must match a Shopify Segment condition to be pulled into a group in Netwise.
If a customer is removed from a segment in Shopify, they are also removed from the linked group in Netwise.
Common Sync Scenarios
Here are common situations merchants encounter with customer sync and what to expect.
Scenario 1: A new customer applies and gets approved
Customer submits the application form → merchant approves → customer is created in Netwise and assigned to a group immediately.
Scenario 2: A customer is added to a Shopify Segment
Merchant tags a customer in Shopify → customer matches the segment → Netwise syncs the update → customer appears in the linked group automatically.
Scenario 3: A customer is removed from a Shopify Segment
Customer no longer meets the segment conditions → they are removed from the group in Netwise → they lose B2B pricing access and revert to default store prices.
Scenario 4: A customer's details change in Shopify
If a customer updates their name or email in Shopify, Netwise reflects the updated information after the next sync.
